Pre-vaccination
Consultation from
arrival to 4 months old

Most new puppies are brought home around 8 weeks of age and it can be a further 3 to 6 weeks before a puppy is fully vaccinated and allowed out into the big wide world. So, you may be surprised to know that the first 12 weeks of a puppy’s life is considered the most important. This is because it is the time when a puppy absorbs information rapidly and makes a mental ‘blue print’ of all of it’s experiences.

This time in a puppy’s life needs careful nurturing and for this reason, puppy owners need to be knowledgeable in how they can guide their new puppy and make a positive influence on them from the moment they first arrive.

A pre-vaccination consultation can give owners the know-how and confidence to do this, as well as provide advice on how to avoid and manage common puppy troubles, such as toilet training, leaving a puppy alone, inhibiting play biting and much more.

This is a perfect start prior to formal training. Puppy School training and socialisation classes are for fully vaccinated puppies, up to 20 weeks of age.

Puppy & Dog Behaviour
I offer three types of behaviour consultations, designed to prevent, improve and resolve puppy and dog problems.
  • From Arrival to 4 months - Pre-vaccination Consultation
  • From 4 months to 12 months - Puppy Troubles Consultation
  • From 12 months onwards - Dog Behaviour Consultation

I place particular importance on the 'Pre-vaccination Consultation' as this can help to avoid many of the common puppy troubles that later lead to behavioural issues.

Get a Head Start ?Pre-vaccination Consultation
The kindest way to communicate with your puppy is through positive reward-based training methods. I offer professional puppy consultations that will show you precisely how modern training techniques can make a real difference to how you prevent, manage and resolve common puppy troubles. Advice is specifically tailored to match your home environment and lifestyle.

Puppyhood Frustrations ?Puppy Troubles Consultation
Getting the right start is so important, particularly as a puppy grows up rapidly. Puberty, adolescence and maturity follow quickly and each stage can trigger new behavioural problems. If you are experiencing unwanted behaviour from your puppy, it is better to seek advice sooner, rather than later. Everyday your puppy repeats this unwanted behaviour he is actually learning how to become more accomplished at it.

Time to change - Dog Behaviour Consultation
Dogs can have behavioural problems at any age, from a chronic issue that becomes gradually worse to a sudden onset, following a specific encounter or change in circumstances.   If you are having problems with your dog and feel that it is time to make a change for the better your may benefit from having a Dog Behaviour Consultation.

What to Expect
Once an appointment is made and prior to the day we meet, you will be asked to complete a simple questionnaire about your dog’s life and the problem you want to change.  During the appointment further information will be sought before recommendations and demonstrations of any exercises are given.  After the consultation, you will receive a written behaviour modification report (except for Puppy Advisory Consultations). A follow up appointment may be suggested, either for further assessment or training.
You may be asked to take your dog to your vet to ensure all medical issues have been discounted.
